They started off thinking the app wasn't going to be as popular as it came to be, then everyone's lives revolved around it. In a way similar to how some people go to facebook posting a status or picture hoping to get a lot of likes to feel better about themselves. Only these people were looking for a higher ranking to be accepted into the 5 meowmeowbean club.
